Kazakhstan Wins 14 Medals at International Equestrian Tournament in Astana

 

The international equestrian tournament in Astana, which brought together the FEI Jumping World Cup Eurasian League, FEI Jumping World Challenge Final 2026 and FEI CDI 1*/CDI 3* Dressage competitions, has come to an end. Over three days of competition, athletes from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, India, Belarus, Colombia, Morocco, the Republic of South Africa and other countries competed in the arena. The tournament became one of the largest international events of the season, bringing together some of the strongest riders from the region and around the world.

The tournament opened with the FEI Jumping World Challenge Final qualifiers and the CSI-W World Cup stage. In the 125 cm class of the CSI-W FEI Jumping World Cup programme, Khurshidbek Alimzhanov from Uzbekistan won the competition with CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Bekzhan Baizhanuly from Kazakhstan took silver with KING DIAMOND, while Rinat Galimov from Kyrgyzstan claimed bronze with D’ARTAGNAN Z.

In the first qualifier of the FEI Jumping World Challenge Final 2026 programme, Bekzod Rozmukhamedov from Uzbekistan won with FLORIZELL. Bernardo Kraus Guerra from Brazil finished second, while Amy Collinson from New Zealand took third place.

One of the most challenging events of the opening day was the qualifier for the BANK CENTER CREDIT EQUESTRIAN CUP Grand Prix, held as part of the CSI-W FEI Jumping World Cup. In the 140 cm class, Oleg Sokolenko from Kazakhstan won with CINDERELLA. Silver went to Sergey Petrov, competing under neutral status, while Olesya Lukina, also competing under neutral status, took bronze.

In the second Challenge Final qualifier, Bekzod Rozmukhamedov from Uzbekistan once again delivered the best result. Silver went to Nal Zeroual from Morocco, while bronze was awarded to Bernardo Kraus Guerra from Brazil. Kazakhstan’s Anuar Dosmailov also finished among the top five.

In the St. George competition of the CDI 1* FEI Dressage programme, victory went to Alina Shevtsova from Uzbekistan. Ekaterina Karkavtseva from Kyrgyzstan won silver, while Kazakhstan’s Darya Popova claimed the bronze medal.

On the second day, Darya Popova from Kazakhstan became the silver medallist in the CDI Intermediate I programme. In the Grand Prix “BANK CENTER CREDIT CUP” CDI 3* competition, Alina Shevtsova from Uzbekistan once again celebrated victory. Third place went to Ekaterina Karkavtseva from Kyrgyzstan.

In the 135 cm class of the CSI-W FEI Jumping World Cup programme, Oleg Sokolenko from Kazakhstan won the bronze medal. In the ULTIMA YANDEX CUP, Kazakhstan’s Raisa Sokolenko won with URAN-NAD WIGRAMI, adding a gold medal to Kazakhstan’s tally.

One of the most spectacular competitions of the second day was the Six Bar Jump-Off. The height of the obstacles reached 170 centimetres, and as a result, Nurila Turisbekova and Yasmin Ibragimova secured victory, bringing Kazakhstan two more gold medals.

On the final day, the winners of the FEI Jumping World Challenge Final were determined. In the Final Competition – Challenge Final at 120 cm, victory went to Bernardo Kraus Guerra from Brazil. Bekzod Rozmukhamedov from Uzbekistan won silver, while Nicolas Rodriguez Posada from Colombia took bronze.

Kazakhstan riders delivered strong results in the CSI-W AEF/Mantena CUP at 135 cm. Oleg Sokolenko won the class with SHENANIGAN and also took second place with SELLY BLUE. Nurila Turisbekova claimed the bronze medal.

The main event of the tournament was the Grand Prix Maxima Masters Eurasia Cup CSI-W at 160 cm. Bogdan Vaskovskiy, competing under neutral status, won the class with EMILION FONROQUE. Kseniya Khairulina, also competing under neutral status, took silver, while the bronze medal went to Kamil Sabitov from Kyrgyzstan.

In the INTERMEDIATE I FREE STYLE “AEF/Mantena CUP” of the CDI 1* programme, Kazakhstan’s Darya Popova won the bronze medal. In the GRAND PRIX FREESTYLE CDI 3* programme, victory once again went to Alina Shevtsova from Uzbekistan.

Over the course of three competition days, Team Kazakhstan won a total of 14 medals. This result once again confirmed the high level of preparation of Kazakhstan athletes on the international stage and the dynamic development of equestrian sport in the country.

Among the leaders of Team Kazakhstan were Oleg Sokolenko, Raisa Sokolenko, Nurila Turisbekova, Yasmin Ibragimova, Darya Popova and Bekzhan Baizhanuly.

The tournament once again demonstrated that equestrian sport in Kazakhstan is developing at a high level, while Astana continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading venues capable of hosting prestigious international competitions under the auspices of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
