Show Jumping: The Ultimate Test of Skill and Spirit

What Is Show Jumping?
Show jumping is one of the most dynamic and thrilling equestrian disciplines.
In this sport, the rider and horse must complete a course of obstacles on a set arena within a given time.
The goal is simple yet demanding — to finish the course without faults, without knocking down any fences, and within the time limit.
Show jumping is all about precision, courage, teamwork, and mutual trust between rider and horse.
History
Show jumping originated in England in the late 18th to early 19th century.
During fox hunts, riders had to jump over fences and ditches — this eventually evolved into a competitive sport.
The first official competition took place in Ireland in 1864, and in 1900, at the Paris Olympic Games, show jumping became an Olympic discipline.
Today, all competitions are governed by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI).
