Kazakhstan Show Jumping Cup to Take Place in Astana

On 29–30 August, Astana will host the Kazakhstan Show Jumping Cup. The national-level competition will bring together Kazakhstani athletes who will compete over courses featuring obstacles ranging from 100 to 130 centimetres in height.
The competition will be held at the Argymak Equestrian and Wellness Complex. The main objectives of the Cup are to further develop equestrian sport in Kazakhstan, improve the skills of national team athletes, enhance the professional qualifications of judges, and identify promising riders and horses.
The competition program consists of six classes. On the first day, 29 August, the opening ceremony will take place at 10:00, followed by competitions over courses with obstacle heights of 100, 110, and 120 cm.
The second day of competition will be held on 30 August. Riders will compete over courses featuring obstacles of 110, 120, and 130 cm. The gradual increase in obstacle height will provide an opportunity to assess the riders’ level of preparation and the quality of cooperation between horse and rider.
Men and women will compete on equal terms. Depending on the difficulty of the course, the minimum age for riders is 12 or 14 years. The minimum age of horses is also determined by the requirements of each class and is set at 6 or 7 years.
To participate in the Cup, horses must have a National Sport Horse Passport issued by the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Both the rider and the horse must be registered with the Federation as a mandatory condition for participation.
The Cup is aimed not only at improving the sporting skills of participants, but also at promoting equestrian sport, supporting promising athletes, and further raising the overall standard of show jumping in Kazakhstan.
