Asian Games 2026: Kazakhstan Rider to Open Individual Show Jumping Competition

The first round of the individual show jumping competition (Jumping Individual A) at the Asian Games will begin on October 3 at the JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo. Four of Kazakhstan’s leading riders will represent the country in the competition.

The event will be held under Table A against the clock rules. Riders and their horses will face a challenging course with obstacles ranging from 145 cm to 155 cm in height. The prescribed speed for the course is 400 metres per minute.

A total of 29 riders from 13 Asian countries are included in the starting order, including representatives of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, South Korea, Qatar and Uzbekistan.

A notable feature of the competition is that a Kazakhstani rider will be the first to enter the arena.

The four Kazakhstani combinations are placed in the starting order as follows:

1. Ksenia Batalova will start first, riding the grey mare LADY DI.

2. Raisa Sokolenko will enter the arena as No. 22 with the bay gelding URAN NAD WIGRAMI.

3. Nurila Turisbekova will start as No. 26 aboard QUIBELLE VAN D’ABELENDREEF.

4. Oleg Sokolenko will be the final Kazakhstani rider to compete, starting as No. 27 with the bay mare CINDERELLA.

The Kazakhstani riders will aim to deliver confident and accurate rounds, avoid penalties and remain in contention for the top positions at the Asian Games.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 05:30 Astana time on October 3.
