Raisa Sokolenko Wins Silver at International CSI1* Class in Poland

Kazakhstani rider Raisa Sokolenko won the silver medal in an international CSI1* class at the Wierzbna Biały Las 2026 show jumping competition in Poland.

The event is taking place from 27–30 August. On 28 August, the riders competed in the CSI1 Dr Horse Cup*, featuring obstacles up to 120 cm.

The competition consisted of two consecutive phases. In the first phase, riders had to clear six obstacles with seven jumps, while the second phase featured five obstacles and six jumps. The obstacle height was 120 cm in both phases.

Raisa Sokolenko and Chevalier completed both phases without penalties. In the decisive second phase, the Kazakh pair recorded a time of 27.78 seconds, finishing second and missing out on victory by just 0.09 seconds.

Germany’s Silvio Weiss, riding Stella B, took first place with a clear round in 27.69 seconds. Poland’s Anna Klosowska, riding Eflim, finished third in 28.32 seconds.

Raisa Sokolenko also finished ahead of several experienced European riders. Germany’s Simon Heineke placed fourth, Matthias Lucas fifth, while Austria’s Christian Rhomberg finished seventh.

Another Kazakhstani rider, Oleg Sokolenko, riding Shenanigan, finished eighth. He completed the first phase without penalties but received four penalty points in the second. Despite this, he recorded a time of 27.63 seconds, the fastest second-phase time of all competitors.

As a result, both Kazakhstan national team riders from Prestige Horse Club finished in the top eight of the international class.

The competition in Poland is part of the athletes’ preparation for the 20th Asian Games in Japan in 2026. International events across Europe provide the Kazakh horse-and-rider combinations with valuable competition experience, help improve consistency, and allow them to further develop their speed over the courses.
