Kazakhstan Youth and Junior Show Jumping Championship Underway in Astana

The Kazakhstan National Youth and Junior Show Jumping Championship is underway at the Argymak Equestrian Complex in Astana.

The competition aims to develop equestrian sport, improve the skills of national team members, and identify future champions.

“Our goal is not simply to determine the winners, but to assess the potential of future national team members. Course designer Tamila Yerkanat has prepared challenging courses ranging from 100 to 130 cm, which will be a real test for the young riders. Those who demonstrate their determination here will go on to compete in major arenas,” said Azamat Khassenov, Senior Coach of the National Show Jumping Team at the Sports Development Directorate.

Young riders from different regions of Kazakhstan are taking part in the championship. The competition is being held in three categories: Children (ages 12–14, 100–110 cm), Youth (ages 15–18, 110–120 cm), and Juniors (ages 16–21, 120–130 cm).

All 15 riders who competed in today’s Children’s qualification round have advanced to tomorrow’s final. In the Youth category, 11 of the 13 riders will continue competing tomorrow, while 4 of the 6 riders in the Junior category have qualified for the next round.
