Kazakhstan Equestrian Federation and Kazakh National University of Sport Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

On 11 August 2026, the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh National University of Sport signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening collaboration in education, science, and sport, while enhancing the system for training specialists in the field of equestrian sport.

The partnership brings together the professional expertise of the Federation and the academic resources of the University to develop highly qualified specialists, expand scientific and methodological support, and introduce modern approaches to athlete and professional education.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, and eventing. Key areas of cooperation include the joint development of educational programs, organization of seminars, training courses, and masterclasses, provision of professional internships for students, and implementation of joint scientific research projects.

A separate priority will be the preparation of specialists in accordance with international standards and the educational framework of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). This includes the professional development of coaches, judges, technical officials, and other specialists working within the equestrian industry.

The Federation will actively contribute to the educational process by delivering practical training sessions, supervising student internships, participating in the development of academic curricula, and engaging experienced experts and industry professionals.

Equestrian sport in Kazakhstan is currently experiencing an important period of growth. The number and quality of competitions continue to increase, greater attention is being given to the development of young athletes, and significant efforts are being made to improve the education and certification of coaches and judges.

At the same time, Kazakhstan is strengthening its cooperation with the FEI. In 2026, the country was awarded the right to host three major FEI international events: an FEI World Cup Qualifier, the FEI Challenge Final, and the FEI Eurasian League Final. These events reflect Kazakhstan’s growing reputation within the international equestrian community.

Today also marks the opening of the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 in Germany, bringing together the world’s leading equestrian athletes. Beyond the competition for medals, the championships provide an important platform for sharing knowledge, advancing athlete preparation, improving officiating standards, and promoting horse welfare.

“For Kazakhstan, this means we must continue developing not only our sporting talent but also the professional environment surrounding equestrian sport by preparing highly qualified coaches, judges, managers, and specialists capable of working in accordance with international standards.

This is why cooperation with the Kazakh National University of Sport is of particular importance to the Federation. The University is evolving into a modern educational institution that successfully integrates sport, science, and academic education. One of its greatest strengths is the combination of theoretical learning with practical experience gained through sports organizations, clubs, and federations,” said Rustam Bayaliyev, Head of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As part of the signing ceremony, the Federation donated a collection of specialized equestrian publications to the University’s library. The donation is intended to strengthen the University’s educational resources and support the training of future professionals in the equestrian sector.

“The donation of these books is symbolic for us as well. We want students to have the opportunity to study equestrian sport not only in the arena but also through professional literature, scientific research, and international best practices,” Rustam Bayaliyev added.

Both parties expressed their commitment to implementing the Memorandum through joint educational, scientific, and sporting initiatives, while working together to establish a modern system of professional education that meets Kazakhstan’s national priorities and aligns with international standards.
