Oleg Sokolenko Opens CSI2* Gut Ising in Germany with a Podium Finish

Kazakhstan national team rider Oleg Sokolenko made a successful start at the international CSI2 Gut Ising* show jumping competition in Germany, which is being held from 2 to 6 September.

The Kazakh show jumper finished second in the 140 cm class, just 1.97 seconds behind the winner.

A total of 44 horse-and-rider combinations competed for the top places in the Preis der Juweliere Banki & Sohn. Oleg Sokolenko and Cinderella completed a flawless clear round in 63.44 seconds, with zero penalties.

Germany’s Benjamin Wulschner, riding Kilcannon Emerald, won the class with a clear round in 61.47 seconds. Felix Haßmann and Conthargo PS finished third in 64.13 seconds, while Jörg Oppermann and Olymp 58 took fourth place with a time of 64.24 seconds.

Three of the top four horse-and-rider combinations represented Germany, while Kazakhstan’s Oleg Sokolenko secured the second step of the podium.

Oleg Sokolenko has several more starts ahead of him at CSI2 Gut Ising*. Following the conclusion of the tournament, the European phase of his preparation will be completed, with the team’s focus then shifting to the Asian Games in Japan.
